Although Geotrax toys are not the most popular of children’s toys, the parents and children who have been introduced to them agree that they are a fantastic toy for boys and girls of different ages. Geotrax characters are very well developed
Each set of trains in the toy line consists of the train and its operator, and both characters in each set are unique and memorable. Aero and Eric are the newcomers to town and whiz around GeoTown; Doc and Bunsen are the science crew who run GeoTown from inside Grand Central Station.
All characters are highlighted in the DVD episodes which are packed with most new train set purchases, reinforcing the identity of the characters in your children’s mind. Each team is also known by a slang name, for example the lovely Woohoo and Opie are known as the “Most Confused” team.
Toy playsets encourage more play styles
In general, most toys are more suited to one style of play. With Geotrax, however, more styles are supported. For young builders, the modular track system will have them exploring configurations for hours; for vehicle lovers, operating remote controls or pushing their trains onto the tracks will keep them busy; for the imaginative types, the characters (my son calls them his little “friends”), the moving parts and the playability encourage interaction.
The modular rail system is well designed
Amazingly, everything fits together in GeoTown, no matter which set the piece comes from. Once you’ve set up a multi-level serpentine track, you’ll find a connecting track piece that is the perfect length to fit the pieces together. The whole system was designed so that the sets could be easily combined together in multiple layouts.
Each piece in the toy line is produced with quality in mind
The toy sets are of high quality. The pieces come together with a resounding “pop” and stay together until you want them to separate. The tracks are thick and durable and can withstand heavy use, frequent falls and violent play.
Children and adults of all ages are introduced to Geotrax trains every day. Aside from the cost and space required for a complete track layout, there are very few reasons not to like what Fisher Price has done with this well-crafted toy line.
