The V Tech Camera is more than just a digital camera for kids – I’m really happy with my purchase – it turned out to be one of the best purchases of last Christmas. In this article, I will provide some of the reasons my kids love their V Tech camera so much. I have done a lot of research on the type of camera to buy and am pleased to say that I believe I have chosen the right one.
The buttons on the camera are large and easy for little fingers to use, and the screen where you can see which photo you are about to take (be it a couple of feet or mom first thing in the morning) is a good size. It is easy for them to hold with the large rubber sides. Ours have been abandoned on numerous occasions, but they are still as good as the day we bought them.
The V Tech camera editing features are great – you can edit an image (usually a mom or dad photo) to have a pair of elephant ears, some whiskers, a dinosaur hovering over them ready to devour them, have a crocodile face and more. You can also add a nice border around your image. You can even add special effects to your image and make it all wobbly.
It also has games you can play (great for a car trip) like zeros and crosses (beach style), match-ups, and you can even juggle an image in puzzle pieces and put it back together.
The USB connection that comes with the V Tech camera makes it really easy for you to upload your images to your PC (kids love watching them on the computer). It even includes connections that allow you to watch your images on TV!
It’s great to get a peek at what your kids have photographed at the end of the day. When Sam first took it he was only 3 and taking a picture of what was on TV (usually Dora), our feet, his sleeping brother etc. Now he’s progressed and we’re no longer obsessed with feet – he thinks it’s fun to get mom pictures first thing in the morning – not a pretty sight (sure he was influenced by his he dad!).
My kids are so proud when we go out and are able to take pictures just like mom. We all know that when you are little you want to grow up quickly and be more like mom and dad (when you get there you want to go back to being little again right away though)!
I would say the V Tech Camera would be a great buy for ages 2 to 7.
